ABC School - Friendly Learning

(EFL Courses for Overseas Students)

Enrolment and Acceptance Process:

  • You may enrol for a course either online, by telephone, or by requesting an enrolment form from us. Please read carefully and understand the terms set out here before proceeding with your enrolment. You can complete and submit the enrolment form online or in person at the school.
  • Your enrolment is officially acknowledged upon the issue of a confirmation of enrolment and the receipt of a signed copy of the terms and conditions and/or the payment of your tuition fee, whichever comes first. In case of a third-party funding, once payment is received, these terms and conditions bind the third party.

Contractual Agreement

This contract cannot be cancelled without the agreement of ABC Schools. Any request of cancellation must be submitted in writing.

Accommodation Arrangements

If students request accommodation arrangements, a deposit of two weeks’ rent plus a £40 finding fee is required. Students are responsible for all bank charges.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation notice periods are based on the college’s normal working hours (Monday to Friday 9am-5pm London time). If a cancellation request is received outside these hours, the notice period will commence from the next working day.

Remote Bookings Cancellation

All bookings made remotely are subject to a 14 day cooling off period from the moment the booking is confirmed. However, if you requested and were provided with the assistance offered by ABC Schools and/or its partners in relation to your visa application to study English in the UK during the cooling off period, ABC Schools reserves the right to deduct £250 to cover the cost of services up until you cancel.

Refund Processing and Criteria

If a Student Visa is refused by the Home Office, Embassy or Port of Entry:

All fees received, less £250 (excluding registration fee), will be refunded. The student will have to show the original letter of refusal from the Home Office or Port of Entry. This must be received before the course is due to start.
If, in the opinion of the UK Visas and Immigration, a student is not bona fide or genuine, all fees paid will not be refunded.
Accommodation fees will only be refunded within a 10-day notice if the visa is refused.

Holiday Booking and Changes

All students must book the holidays they are allowed at least 7 days in advance, starting on a Monday for a full week (or subsequent full weeks). The college does not extend courses for mid-week holidays or those without adequate notice. Holidays can be changed or cancelled with a 7-day notice.

Course Fees and Public Holidays

There is no reduction or refund in fees for courses that include a public holiday.

The college is closed for two weeks for Christmas. Fees are not charged for this period if the course overlaps with it.

School Discretion and Changes

Classes cannot be changed by students mid-week; all changes will start from Monday. Class changes are subject to availability.

The college reserves the right to change teachers, timetables, classrooms, and classroom locations. Additionally, classes may be combined if necessary. The college may remove students from the class register if attendance is unsatisfactory.

Student Behaviour and Property Responsibility

Students are expected to behave orderly. Wilful damage to property or threatening behaviour to staff or fellow students may result in expulsion from the college. Expelled students are held personally responsible for property damage and no refund of fees will be made.

Liability and Personal Property

The college, its employees, and representatives are not responsible for personal injury or loss/damage to personal property on the premises or during college trips/excursions.

College Closure and Online Classes

If the college must close due to a government order, classes may be conducted online. Fees will transfer to such a course without a refund for the duration of the closure.

Privacy Policy

If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will notify you by posting the changes on our homepage.

Force Majeure Events

ABC Schools shall not be held responsible for any failure to fulfil its obligations in the event of Acts of God (such as fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane, infectious diseases or pandemics, or other natural disasters beyond the reasonable control of the parties), war, invasion, actions of foreign enemies, hostilities (whether or not war is declared), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power, confiscation, terrorist activities, nationalization, government sanction, blockage, embargo, labour disputes, strikes, lockouts, or interruptions or failures of electricity, internet, or telephone service. No refunds will be issued under such circumstances.

In the case where the college cites Force Majeure as a reason for its inability to fulfil its obligations, the college will take reasonable measures to mitigate delay or damages resulting from foreseeable events. The college will make substantial efforts to fulfil all non-excused obligations and notify the affected party (e.g. students, agents) wherever feasible regarding the likelihood or actual occurrence of the event.

Infectious Disease Outbreak Protocol

In the event of an outbreak of an infectious disease, all students and/or parents/guardians are required to adhere to quarantine rules and guidelines as stipulated by government agencies or the educational institution.

Complaints and Escalation

In the event of any complaint, students should contact the Director of Studies initially. If unsatisfied, students should contact the Principal Mr Israel Tal (israel@goldersgreencollege.co.uk)

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes will be governed by English Law.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Our immigration advice is a service that we provide to help you with your visa application process.
  2. The purpose of our immigration advice by our OISC Licensed Immigration Advisor is to ensure that you have the best possible chance of obtaining a visa for your travel and study purposes.
  3. We do not guarantee that your visa application will be successful, but we will use our best efforts and expertise to guide you through the process.
  4. Eligible students will benefit from our immigration advice service. By using our service, you will have a higher chance of obtaining your visa, which will allow you to study and travel in the UK.
  5. If any immigration advice is given, this constitutes a service, and the student is no longer eligible for a full refund even if the student requests a refund within the cooling off period stipulated in terms and conditions of ABC Schools. If the student has already received immigration advice from our advisor, within the cooling off period, we will deduct £250 to cover the cost of services up until cancellation.
  6. Immigration advice constitutes any communication with an advisor; once the advisor has received contact details of the student that has paid tuition fees and the advisor has sent the student a checklist that provides advice and a step-by-step process of each document required for visa application, this will constitute immigration advice. This also includes, but is not limited to, providing guidance on visa requirements, advising on the documents required, and offering help in preparing and submitting the visa application.
  7. If we determine that a student has not been genuine in the visa process, has failed to disclose any information, or has concealed information about past visa refusals or other relevant matters that lead to UK Immigration Authorities believing that a student is not genuine, then the student will not be eligible for a refund.
  8. Our immigration advisor has the right to refuse documents if the advisor thinks they are not adequate, and can request new documents if the advisor deems it necessary to ensure that your application will be successful.
  9. You may request a refund of your course fees but the college will retain a £250 deposit if you provide us with a valid visa refusal letter from the immigration authority except where clause 7 above applies.
  10. We will not issue a refund if you withdraw your application for whatever reason following immigration advice given.
