Student of the Month Interview: Maysa
We have interviewed our lovely student Maysa about her experience in London and at ABC School of English. We have learnt her opinion about the school and the city and we have got to know her better.
- Could you please tell me something about yourself: studies, job, hobbies, and dreams?
My name is Maysa Capote, I’m from Brazil, but actuality I live in Slovakia. I am a chemical engineer and so, of course, I love numbers, but I’m also interested in the humanities or social sciences. I always try to help others and to be friendly. My dream is to be employed in a job which offers humanitarian assistance. In my free time I like doing Sudoku, listening to music, learning new songs on my guitar and reading books, especially detectives stories. I also enjoy drama and reading about psychology. My favourite writers are Agatha Christie, Machado de Assis and John Gray.
- Why did you decide to come to London?
I decided to come to London because in Brazil I never had the possibility of doing a good English course. I think the best way to learn a language is by going to the country where it is spoken.
- How do you find life in London?
I find life in London very interesting. Here there are all kinds of people and I like the fact that cultural things are available to everyone, from the buskers on the street to free museums.
- Why did you choose ABC school?
I chose the ABC school because I was looking for a school which uses the Callan method and one of my friends recommended it.
- What’s your opinion of the Callan Method course?
I like the Callan method. However, I think the teachers play a very important role with in this method because sometimes there are examples in the book that only a good teacher can make clear for the student.
- What are your plans for the future?
I intend to go back to Slovakia, and look for a new job and so, of course, my knowledge of English will be very useful.Ok Maysa, thank you for your time!Thank you very much!
