- What is the capital of your country? Which language do you speak?
The capital of Colombia is Bogota. We speak Spanish in Colombia.
- What is the food speciality of your country?
The most traditional dish is the Bandeja Paisa (the “Paisa Platter”) – a hearty mix of white rice, red beans, shredded meat, chicharrón (pork rind), chorizo, morcilla (black pudding), fried egg, avocado, arepa and plantain. It is thought that the Bandeja Paisa is a modern interpretation of the peasant food, food designed to fill the stomach and give energy to those working in the fields.
- Can you briefly describe your country? (What make your country famous? National sport? Do you have sea or/and mountains in your country?)
Colombia has the second-highest biodiversity in the world and is one of the world's 17 megadiverse countries; its territory encompasses Amazon rainforest, highlands, grasslands, deserts, and islands and coastlines along both the Atlantic and Pacific (the only country in South America).
Colombia is well known for arts and in particular for literature: a great example could be Gabriel Garcia Marquez who wrote the famous
One Hundred Years of Solitude. He is considered one of the most significant authors of the 20th century and one of the best in the Spanish language, he was awarded the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature.
