Marina was the student of December!
In ABC School of English, the student of the month for December was Marina!
As always, ABC School of English seeks the Student of the month! In this case, the student for December was Marina. She is studying English with the Callan Method!
We have interviewed Marina about her experience in London and at ABC School of English. We have learnt her opinion about the school and the city and we have got to know her better.
Thank you for taking the time to do the interview!
Could you please tell me something about yourself: studies, job, hobbies, and dreams?
Hello everyone! I am Marina. I am 25 years old. Before to come to study in ABC school I was working in Moscow as cabin crew in Aeroflot (Russian airlines for three years). It was amazing experience and thanks to that I saw so many nice countries and cities. Also, in Moscow I graduated in Financial University under the Government of Russian Federation and got bachelor’s degree in Finance. I would like to go further in my education and my dream (to get master’s degree in London in Finance).
Eventually I realised that I enjoyed travelling the most. Yes, I am a wandering soul. Visiting new places, traveling new roads, trying new cuisines, and learning about new cultures excites me! My dream is to cover all the countries, both small and big, before I turn 50! Also, I like collecting books from different countries where I have been.
Why did you decide to come to London?
In English lessons in High School I had exercise book with night view of Tower bridge. During every lesson I looked at this picture and dreamed one day to see it in real. After 6 years I came here alone during my holidays to see the city of my dreams. To say I was happy is nothing to say. I felt like home... and after seeing so many cultures and countries I found something which is so close to me and dear. I remember standing in Westminster bridge looking at the river Thames in July 2018 I made a wish to move here, I still did not know anyone here but felt that it should be. Later I met someone.
How do you find life in London?
It is amazing! I still cannot believe that I am here, so grateful this life I am here. Of course, the city is so beautiful but there are so much wonderful people, so kind, intelligent and really good at what they do.
Why did you choose ABC school?
From a first moment I felt more trust than to any other school and when I went further I discovered in the school key factors: location, number hours per week, price and Bozena was so professional, helpful and kind during all the way.
What’s your opinion of the Callan Method course?
I have found that the method is incredibly effective with beginners, but do not offer a solid base at higher levels where communication rather than accurate speech is required.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to find my job which I would really love to do, be passion about it and become very successful on it. On my way to that I have to pass English exam, probably GMAT and get master’s degree in London.
Thank you all of you read it to the end!
